Resistance 3

Release Date: September 6, 2001
ESRB: M
Manufacturer: Insomiac, Sony
GCRating: 10
Stats: Move Compatible, FPS
Story: This story follows that of the man who killed our beloved Nathan. I don't know his name and I don't care, this game isn't about the story, its about the chimera and the shooting.  Lots and lots of wonderful shooting.  I am playing Co-op and it is insane how many dudes there are to kill!!
Review: This game is fantastic!!!  They heard us!!!  and brought back the co-op that made the first game so frakking amazing!!!! The ingame graphics were completely revamped.  They did a beautiful job texurizing the world its sometimes hard to appreciate it all with the swarms of baddies but its beautiful.  They kept with the graphic style of the past, just amped it up.  The controls are flawless, its the same easy to find non cumbersom design as the first two games just with more awesome guns.  The gun design is really unique, they character responds to the weight of the guns too which I love - slows you down when you have a rocket launcher as opposed to the hand gun or shottie.  Love that!   This game was preordered.  Oh yes it was. :)  Did i mention it's MOVE compatible?!  Hello welcome to first person shooting to the next level ppl!!!  This game is fantastically fun and easy to jump into, even if you didn't play the first two, Sony has a hit with this one boy. Awesome game!
Likes: Graphics, Co-op, PSM, Baddies >:)
Dislikes: The price lol but its worth it, I'm cheap lol

Resistance 2

Manufacturer: Insomniac

Story: Hale is BACK and jaundice as ever!! This time the Chimera have launched a full out take no prisoners (or rather TAKE prisoners and turn them into Chimera monster freaks) of the West.  That's right, America.  Land of the free and flee ridden! Ok well Crawler ridden. Hale is one of the few humans who have been infected by the Chimeran army and not changed over to a long-toothed drooling baddie.  This makes him not only unique, but also important to the human resistance (tee hee 'resistance') of the chimeran invasion.  Hale joins up with the Sentinels, an elite team of heroes all of which are like Hale, Jaundice and cranky.  They all take a temporary inhibitor to hold back the chimera virus' effects.  Yeah its like Midol.

Review:  Ok, so I was UBER excited for this game as the first Resistance was soooo EPIC!  So when I saw how much they changed the game, and not in good ways, my heart was inevitably crushed.  First, the campaign co-op was scrapped.  Say WHAT?  yeah. scrapped.  Instead they decided to focus on the multiplayer online aspect.  The BEST thing about Resistance 1 was the Co-op Campaign mode man!  The guns changed too.  Suddenly Hale could no longer carry every gun in the world, which btw, SUX man bcs ammo is limited and I found myself trying to remember where ammo and gun caches were all of the world, which if you can't guess takes up a LOT of RAM i can't afford to expend!  The health system changed too, which wasn't so bad I guess. They went from picking up health at every turn to a hide till you feel better system.  I personally die a whole lot less in the hide and seek system, but I think that the health block system was unique to Resistance and it felt like they were just trying to be like other games.  You are Resistance.  Be the best Resistance you can be, we don't expect you to be Halo man, we don't. OH speaking of the guns, they are more hybrid-y - between late 1950's human guns and the chimera guns.  This blending of the technology just adds another facet to the plausibility of this alternate reality. The baddies changed too, they added new ones and got rid of some oldies, but that too makes the game plausible.  Of course the Chimerian Army would adjust to the warfare!  They make their guys better, more efficient killing machines!  Awesome.  The graphics in this were, decent for the time period.  Or should I say this, the cut screen graphics were beautiful.  The ships were detailed and beautiful.  The VO could have been better, but I let that slide bcs frak I just thank jebus I don't have to read anything!  That being said the in game graphics was identical to the first game, which was a bit of a let down.  I hope in R3 they suit up and getter dun! The play is seamless, and unglitchy. The story was a continuation and brought back familiar characters, although they didn't exactly explain anything, like where the frak did they come from!?  Over all its worth a play through, even though it was a bit of a lunch bag let down.
Likes: Love this franchise! The graphics were cool, and they put TROPHIES in so - ya gotta love trophies!
Dislikes: The lack of trying in the in play graphics dept, the changes to Campaign Co-op, Gun and Health Systems. Really Insomniac, don't go changing what is GOOD with a game for the sake of change man. But mostly the Campaign Co-op was the biggest let down.

Bioshock 2

Release Date: Feb 2010
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: 2K Games
GCRating:5
Stats: Single Player, Online Multi, FPS Adventure, Trophies, DLC
Story: Oay so  we are back in Rapture, the underwater city of the damned in 1968, Eight years after the events of Bioshock 1 (highly recommended btw).  You are now a Big Daddy (that's what she said).  The Big Daddies are the hard to kill dudes in Bioshock 1 that protected the little sisters.  This Big Daddy is the first of its kind bcs his organs and skin were grafted into an atmospheric diving suit.  Yeah gross man, but w/e.  Your name is Subject Delta (wanna know what happened to Alpha thru Charlie??) and you wake up and you have no memory of the last ten years or so. Basically you are looking for your paired little sister.  Now, the baddie, or Sofia Lamb, thinks you getting back together with your little sister is going to wreck her plans of Rapture Domination and consequently tries to stop you by sending out her splicers and the NEW big bad, BIG sisters!  (yeah they are creepy dude!)

Review: whew, ok where do I start?!  The story line in this game keeps you motivated all the way to the finish.  You have the A-Typical things to do, and being a Big Daddy is well, awesome.  I highly recommend that you play Bioshock 1 first so you know what's what.  The controls are basically the same with some very minor improvements, I like how they fixed the powers vs. gun control from the first game.  They also changed the Hacking.  I LOVE hacking in games and BS1 was the first time I had encountered it, and since then you will find it in Mass Effect, Dead Space, and probably a whole slue of games that I can't think of off the top of my head at the moment.  They changed the whole system from the first game and introduced a hack gun so you can auto hack from a distance.  The introduction of the big sisters is epic, and they are HARD bcs they don't come alone - you will freeze when you hear them screech in the distance - which happens occasionally thru out the game to keep you on your toes!  I played this game like three times right in a row it was so good, so re playability is a def, the fun to be had cork screwing splicers with your drill is epic!!  I also love how you can choose to help ppl or destroy them.  It touches on the karma adventures that are flooding the market, and completely changes the end so honestly, replay is mandatory. The in-game graphics are pretty much the same as in the first one which well, come on, really? I mean they aren't BAD by any stretch of the imagination, but I guess I just expect more from a sequel.  That being said, the cut screens are legen-wait for it-DARY!  The VO is exactly what VO should look like and should be held up as an example to all other games! Overall this game is awesome!
Likes: Hacking, Story line, VO and cutscreen graphics, ease of use of control system
Dislikes: No one plays the Multiplayer Online so its just you in a room.  That sux.  Also about the Multiplayer, its like they added it on as a 'woo this is popular we should do this' kind of way, and it just falls short.  Although the areas are expansive and the situational story is imaginative, it would just be better if more ppl were playing it.

Little Big Planet

Release Date: October 2008
ESRB: Everyone
Manufacturer: Media Molecule, Sony
GCRating: 4
Stats: Multiplayer, Online Multiplayer, Player Created Levels, Trophies!! Friends Lists, Platform Adventure, Sack-boi Awesomeness :)
Story: You play as Sackboy, or SackGirl, or Sackperson if you choose :) LBP is a world created by 8 Creator Curators, but the 8th is greedy and is stealing the other's creations and not sharing them with the world. Only you, Sackperson, can go to each level and get back the missing stuff.

Review: This game is exclusive for the PS3. This game was very cool, its unique, its challenging, and fun.  You can create your own levels by playing the game and collecting stamps and fabrics and backgrounds and well pretty much everything you could ever want and need in your LBP world.  You get trophies for collecting the stuff, and we all know how much i love collecting the STUFF in games, so this game is fairly perfect for me.  You can choose to play online, which is fun if you find someone who isn't useless :) or frustrating if you team up with a douche - I highly recommend you play the level by yourself first, some of the baddies are tricky.  Now, I typically don't enjoy a side scroller - but the graphics in this are top notch so you kind of forget its sorta 2D, yeah really.   With the player created online content - which is FREE by the way, basically the game has no ending.  You can play crazy wacked out worlds by some fairly imaginative ppl all over the world and it is extensive, crazy - you won't even scratch the surface, honest.
Likes: Online player created levels, hidden treasures, fun game play
Dislikes: the reading, really in this day and age you can't VO?  If I wanna read, I'll get one of those book thingies!!  yeah i had to stretch to complain about this game....

Fallout 3

Release Date: October 2008
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: Bethesda Game Studios, ZeniMax Media Inc.
GCRating: 5
Stats: Single Player, Trophies, FPS-ARPG, Open World Awesomeness - Karma Based Story

Story:  Alternate Universe - what if after WWII Americans kept to the ideals of the 1950's? Then the Chinese finally dropped the big one in 2077, and THEN 200 years later, post Apocalyptic America, the horrors of surviving a nuclear Holocaust are evident in every fiber of every living thing in the D.C. area, now renamed the "Capital Wastelands" which honestly is an accurate description.  Luckily you, the player, are born in a Vault, safe from the horrors of the outside for 19 years.  Your father has been the driving force in your world up until the point where he leaves the vault.  And of course you go after him, stumbling out into the world for the first time in your life - from that moment on, you choose everything you do.  You can go after your father, you can just help ppl in the area, or choose to shoot first and ask questions later...  Every choice gives you good/bad xp effecting how ppl approach you, and what options you have when they do.  This is a first person shooter which was radically different from Fallout 2 which was an overhead god-like game (that I never played btw) but the decision to go FPS really boosted the sales according to sources I've read about this game, so good for you Bethesda!
Review:  I am all about Fallout.  I love it.  Its brilliant, it's immense, it's exactly what they say it is.  You choose everything, you can be anyone you want - there truly is no "right" way to play this game, and the replay value of it is endless bcs each choice you make effects the story drastically.  For those of you who just like shooting games, there is plenty of shooting here, big bad baddies at every turn, human and mutated animal alike, altho I wish you didn't HAVE to shoot the dogs.  Yeah I have a thing about that - I don't care if they aren't REAL - the puppy cries when you kill them break my heart. :p Yeah shutup.  The innovative V.A.T.S system is very cool and easy to learn and implement. Very quickly you will be blowing baddies heads away in Kill Bill style gore and guts.  Awesome.

Other then the great story and the innovative integration of good/bad karma, the graphics were stylized - and the VO was decent.  The usage of the Pipp Boy was easy to get into to manage your extensive collection of 'stuff' you pick up on your travels.  Its hard to know what's important and what's not at first but after you know - its all good.  I love how during the game you get a 'house' where you can store your stuff - I'm a collector, and love managing the money and items - and can spend hours just doing that... and have. :)  The post apocalyptic inhabitants are well designed, plausible and unique. If you've ever wondered what post apocalyptic America would be like, this game comes pretty damn close to the vision.  Ok so you say, graphics are good, game play is good, storyline is... good, and replay is good, so why did you give it a 5?  Well friend, bcs the game is riddled with glitches.  From twitchy dead baddies to down right freezing up - a lot - not to mention gun jams and falling through the ground, to black 'webbing' that suddenly fills the sky - its like the glitch fairy was angry at Bethesda and gave this game an extra dose!
Likes: VATS, stuff collecting, HUGE map with SO many missions, and health regeneration (you have to eat and drink to live)
Dislikes: Glitches

Resident Evil 5

Release Date: March 2009
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: Capcom
GCRating: 6
Stats: 1 - 2 players (yeahhh coop!), Online Coop, Trophies, DLC, Horror Strategy Third Person Shooter
Story: The player characters and overall good guy over achievers are Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar, and the game takes place in 2009 when Chris is a member of a group called BSAA - which is the bioterrorism security assessment alliance (don't be impressed I looked it up).  So the BSAA was sent into Africa to investigate a terrorist bio-organic weapon or a BOW - threat. So Albert Wesker is your 'resident' bad guy, joined  up with him is some chick - Excella Gionne - apparently she is the relative of a founder of the Tricell Pharm Co.  You find out fairly quick that Tricell and Umbrella have joined forces to create the ultimate "Dark Side" and you the uber hero have to stop their evil ways.
Review:  Yeah so the graphics for this game are awesome, they were cutting edge when this came out, the cut screens are beautifully done, and the vo is flawless.  The story is plausible and captivating, the Manjini are relentless and completely unzombie-like, as they will run up on your ass if you are not quick with the gun, tap tap, good night.  You have a wide variety of weapons to choose from, one for all types of styles, snipe to shotty, gotta love it.  Then there is the search and find treasures! OH this makes the game, there are all kinds of goodies hidden, very well, all over the world for you to find and get.  The boss-jini's are challenging and creative, just face the fact you are going to die, over and over.  good times.  Your helper, sheena :) or whatever, is only helpful really if you have two players otherwise she's always shooting you in the back of the head or something.
Likes: The cut screens and VO - brilliantly done during a time when VO was like watching a foreign dubbed film. and the Treasures!  I love searching for treasure!
Dislikes: The puzzles weren't so much puzzles as walk here, pull this, to open up this area now walk there to pull that to go somewhere else.  wasn't challenging at all.

Resistance: Fall of Man

Release Date: November 2006
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: Insomniac
GCRating: 6

Stats: 1 - 4 players - but it's best in Coop Mode!, FPS
Story: The game is set in an alternate history 1951, and puts the player in the shoes of Sgt. Nathan Hale as he and the human resistance forces attempt to drive a mysterious alien-like invasion out of Britain.

Review:  This is one of the best scifi games I've ever played.  The story line is extremely rich and intreuging, its history is flawless and plain and simple makes you want to know what happens next.  You care about your character, Nathan Hale, there is mystery surrounding him and you play just to see what happens next!  The creatures are extremely imaginative, bravo insomniac, bravo! They are down right spooky!  There are several different types of baddies, and playing the game you find out how they are 'made' which in itself is damn kreepy man!  There is no leveling up, and the HUD is clean, there is plenty of ammo and enuff health if you are careful, but its a very lean game, no futzing around with menus, and upgrades, when you are out of bullets, walk over the nearest dead dude and boom goes the dynomite!  Changing out guns is easy on the fly capable, and the types of guns you get are smart and imaginative.
Likes: The "Auger", the story, the graphics, the lean pick up and go keep you in the fighting style shooter - brilliantly done Insomniac!
Dislikes: Nothing.  I loved this game.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Release Date: November 2010
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: Ubisoft
GCRating: 5
Stats: Single Player, Online, DLC, Trophies!!, Stealth RPG in Open World Awesomeness!!!
Story: Ezio's story begins in 1499, where you leave off in AC2, as he leaves the vault, he is very confused on what he just saw. He escapes Rome with his uncle Mario Auditore and arrives at Monteriggioni. There, Machiavelli challenges Ezio's decision to leave Rodrigo Borgia, the pope, alive. Soon after that, Ezio's city is besieged by Cesare Borgia, son of Rodrigo Borgia.  The Assassins are overpowered by this attack and the entire city is left in ruins.  This is where shit hits the fan and you go off to Rome to kick some Borgia ass!

Review: This game rocks hard core!  Its wide open spaces, you can climb on just about everything, the controls are all very familiar, you have added bonus stuff like your assassin's training where you invite ppl from the different towns to train in your assassin's guild, your sister is a pimp, how awesome is THAT? The graphics are awesome even though you still run like a flat foot tool-holio, whatevs, its awesome anyway.  Your missions are seemingly endless, you have a wide variety of "stuff" to do! Subject 16's puzzles aren't as.... puzzley, I mean they are... but it was hard wrapping one's head around how to figure out how they got to that solution. (yes walkthroughs are our friends) I love how they brought back the money making, and item purchasing. Its good good good stuff.
Likes: Online! The fighting, the puzzles, Leonardo's missions, the huge area to explore and your trained assassin's guild!!
Dislikes: not much, the climbing controls are extremely frustrating - you'd think they'd fix that by the third game.

Enslaved Odyssey To The West

Release Date: October 2010
ESRB: Teen
Manufacturer: Namco, Ninja
GCRating: 4
Stats: Single Player, HnS, Action Adventure, DLC, Trophies
Story: You are a slave named Monkey, and you start off in this game a captive prisoner aboard a crashing air ship.  After making your way off the ship without crashing, sorta, you wake with a head band that this girl put on you.  The head band makes you do what she wants you to do other wise you'll die.  Basically she's forcefully requesting your assistance. So of course you agree to help protect her as she travels home.  You fight an army of robots between where you are and where you get to.
Review: I like this game, the story is a little out there, but even with my A.D.D I can get into it.  It feels like an open world search and find collectable type game but really its extremely linear.  You have to get from point A to point B and there isnt much in the way of search.  The few puzzles are extremely easy, and the hidden "masks" you find throughout the game wouldn't be easier to find if they had a glowing red arrow pointing to them. I enjoy the world, and the cartoony styllized graphics are fresh and unique.  Monkey has some really epic combo moves against enemies and the girl isn't too annoying.  The enemies are challenging to a point, esp when they call for reinforcements!
Likes: The story, and graphics the hover board
Dislikes: If you are going to have an open world game, let me climb on everything, not just what you want me to climb on, and give me full control over my jump capabilities FFS!

Assasin's Creed II

Release Date: November 2009
ESRB: Mature
Manufacturer: Ubisoft
GCRating: 6
Stats: Single Player, Online Stealth, Stealth ARPG, Open World Awesomeness
Story: At the beginning of Assassin's Creed II, Lucy returns and breaks Desmond out of Abstergo. He is brought to a hideout and introduced to her Assassin allies Shaun and Rebecca, as well as an updated version of the Animus. Knowing what is at stake, Desmond volunteers to enter the Animus again, and explore the memories of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young nobleman from 1476 in Florence, Republic of Florence. He hopes to gain Ezio's abilities through the Bleeding Effect so he can aid the Assassins.Review: Yeah, the storyline is this is superior to AC1 by like 1000, they really took the time and pumped up the story, adding history to the massive expansive world you can explore, yeah you learn stuff (if you take the time to read the tidbits) about Florence and the other massive worlds you explore.  This go around you have puzzle solving - which is right up my alley, you find secret glyphs which lead you to other puzzles and you have to solve them to get two seconds of video that you don't quite understand - I'd say until the end, but even after the end i was still confused, w/e it was fun.  OH and the Templar lairs, yeah i was ALL about the Templar lairs, there was usually no one to kill, but you had to climb around tomb raider style and so I was in gaming heaven - it was very challenging, but worth every step of the way.  The money handling in this game was very cool concept, I like how you can buy collectibles, like the paintings, and the armor and of course your weapons.  being able to buy your health was cool too, even though I didn't like that they changed it so radically from the first game, but I grew to love it. eventually.  Overall this was a great game, I enjoyed it from start to finish, and is definitely re playable, the story never gets old, and neither does shanking baddies.
Likes: The graphics rock, the climbing around on buildings, the introduction of Leonardo and his inventions!  STORY STORY STORY!!!!
Dislikes: I'll get back to you on this one, I can't think of anything bad to say.

Assassin's Creed

Story: You start off as Desmond, in the current time period.  You've been kidnapped by some corporation (Abstergo) and they are doing experiments on you.  They put you in this machine called an Animus, which allows you to experience dead relatives lives as if they were your own.  You wake up as Altair - and that's pronounced ALT-AH-EER not ALT-AIR :)

So as Altair you follow his life as an assassin, exploring his world, killing bad guys and discovering the secrets that Abstergo is looking for.

Review: Agent Mango and I stumbled onto this game by complete accident and OMG - seriously??  It is SO good!!!  Like crazy good!  There is SOOOOO much to do!  You run around and kill bad guys, you help people in distress, it is everything good about games - the graphics are hands down the best in the genre, the story is amazing, the detail of the towns are unreal, the expansiveness of the map is mind blowing, if you love search and find, you are going to joygasm at the sheer number of flags to find, side missions to do, horse riding, and did i mention SHANKING unsuspecting baddies?!?!  hello?  I believe we paid full price for this game and it was worth every penny, for hours and hours of enjoyment!! Three years later, it is still an amazing game.
Likes: yeah, like everything! Graphics, story, historical accuracy, search and find, side missions, map size - really? yeah, really.
Dislikes: the occasional glitch here and there, but honestly all that is good about this game, i forgive the occasional glitch

Silent Hill: Homecomming

Release Date: September 2008
ESRB: M
Manufacturer: Konami
GCRating:6
Stats: Single Player, Survival Horror, Trophieeees!
Story: The player assumes the role of the protagonist, Alex Shepherd, a Special Forces soldier who returns home from an overseas tour of duty to find that his father and younger brother are missing, and that his mother has gone into catatonia. Alex begins to search for his brother, leading him to Silent Hill after searching his hometown of Shepherd's Glen. Shortly into the game the shit hits the fan and you fall into this world that'll give you big girl nightmares that will make you cry yourself to sleep. :)
Review: AWESOME GAME!!!!!  The story was riveting from the moment you start and is full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing until the very last boss! Apparently they stopped production on this game so it was virtually impossible to find, but omg well worth it.  It stands the test of time, truly.  The game play is moderate to difficult depending on the setting, its extremely tight with little to no glitches.   It's a third person RPG - guns and objective treasures are scattered through out the game, but basically you are task orientated.  There isn't a lot of hey what's that over there and spend seven hours searching a warehouse, like in Fallout - kwim? The few puzzles are very challenging and unique, and most of the time you are trying not to get lurked by the baddies whilst trying to complete them, so that really ups the ante. You are definitely kept busy with the onslaught of varied skinless oozing monsters (and puppies) that seem to jump out at you at every turn and especially from dark dank places.  The bosses are hard, and what you have to do to kill each is unique, and sometimes difficult to figure out, but that's what makes it fun.

Beware.  This game is SCARY.  I mean it.  It is the scariest series I've ever played, and made me scream like a girl on more then one occasion.  Yeah, Faceless Nurses.  Hello??  It is DARK and creepy things run up on you and and and... its DARK.... its fraking scary dude, for reals.
The in play graphics are awesome, and the cut screen graphics were phenomenal!  This game is well worth the time, you get a whole lot of game for your buck, and did i mention it is scary as hell!!!  The only real negative was you get tired of chasing around that little brat all over gods green earth.  I just wanted to shoot the kid in the leg to slow him down after the thousandth time we find him and he runs off into the dark.  Little bastard deserved to be lost.  LOL  The biggest complaint in the gamer community was the lack of pyramid head - he shows up once, to scare the beejesus outta you, and he does, scare, the, beejesus, outta, you.... well me... but you don't fight him, he is just kinda walking around in the background... like he was an afterthought...  I personally was glad to not have to fight him, but during the game play you don't KNOW you don't have to fight him, so until you finish that one chapter, you are DEF on edge...
Likes:  The graphics, controls, story, scare factor
Dislikes: Josh

ESRB: E
Manufacturer: Disney

Stats: Single Player, Trophies, Online Head to Head, ATV Race

Story: Players race with ATVs across the world, pulling off incredible stunts at extreme heights. There are three different race types:
  • Freestyle: Perform and combo as many tricks as they can before running out of gas. In the end, the player with the highest score wins.
  • Sprint: Short races over 5 laps. These come with only one or two jumps and many hard turns, making it important to time the jumps and turns.
  • Race: Longer races over 3 laps. These have loads of turns, loads of vertigo-inducing jumps. The player has to stay on top of the chart and keep pulling fresh tricks to win.
The game has a Trick-System that monitors what kind of tricks the player has been showing off. If the player keeps using the same trick, the tricks become 'stale', but if the player keeps pulling new tricks, he/she gets 'fresh' which is mostly important while playing "Freestyle".

Review: This game is a very cool racing game.  The tricks are epic and easy to pull off, yet the tracks are legendary and the race is rough - dirty - the crashes are very cool, and the different modes makes thing interesting.   You can build and customize your ATVs - with endless possibilities - but you don't have to be a gear head to understand what goes where.
Likes: the pick up and go races, the epic tricks and the tracks are endless choices of paths which keep you guessing at every turn
Dislikes: NO one plays online!!!!!!  that sux! :(

Story:Set in an alternate history 1960, the game places the player in the role of a plane crash survivor named Jack, who must explore the underwater city of Rapture, and survive attacks by the mutated beings and mechanical drones that populate it.
Review: This is a great game that we've played over and over.  Its a FPS that made me fall back in love with FPS's.  There's so many things I love about this game, you can "Hack" security systems, turrets, and goodie dispenser machines.  i love the hack feature, its SO cool!  The story is great, it has a rich deep background that unfolds throughout the game, you completely follow and get immersed in it.  The graphics are very cool, the stylized graphics are unique and stand alone.  The game play is challenging, but not frustrating.  I love the search n find + fps - this game is one word, EPIC!
Likes: hacking is the coolest addition, the graphics are awesome and the story is innovative and holds your (my) attention.
Dislikes: some of the buttons are in strange places - like how you give yourself health, and that you can't use both a gun in one hand and your tonic in the other but they fixed that in Bioshock 2 - but it's still noteworthy in my review of Bioshock 1

Darksiders

Manufacturer:Vigil,

Stats: Single Player, ARPG, Trophieeees!!!!

Story: Darksiders is a single-player action adventure in which the player takes control of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In third-person perspective, the player engages in combat, puzzles and exploration. The world is divided into separate locations with many areas at first initially inaccessible until War regains many of his lost weapons and abilities. The center of the world, The Scalding Gallow, acts as a hub where War is given new objectives and paths to further unlock new areas. Each contains a series of linear and non-linear paths, many of which require large sections of platforming, climbing and swimming along environment-based puzzles that impair progress that require the use of newly-gained abilities. He fights mainly against angels and demons, and has a unique way to kill each particular type of enemy, usually tearing them apart painfully.

Review:  I love this game!  I've played start to finish like 3 times, ok no four!  Its that kind of game!  the ease of warfare, changing out your weapons, leveling up its all very user friendly.  I'm not sure why they gave it an M rating at the ESRB, but whatevs - the stylized graphics are borderline cartoony, and consequently the blood and "gore" is cartoony too - not saying that its bad, just stating a fact.   The story line is pretty epic, and follows more of a christian belief system of angels and demons and what not - and like the bible, makes for a good read, tho fairly improbable.
Likes: WAR IS AWESOME!!!  he KICKS doors in! you get a trophy for spilling x amount of gallons of demon blood, yes GALLONS!
Dislikes: um.......  yeah this game is awesome I've got nothing i would change about it.

In an epic battle to save the Furon Epire, Crypto must embark on a journey of distruction and enlightenment to face his greatest foe yet.  ~ DAH booklet

Review:  I really liked DAH 1 and 2, so I figured I would like DAH 3, i mean what's more fun then pulling brains out of ppl's butts with an anal probe?!  that's right, anal probe...  anyway, I can't say that I was that impressed with it, although there was quite a bit to do, and the challenges were well, challenging, the story was lacking.  I found crypto not to be as clever or as witty as in previous DAH's, and yeah, i compare my games with other games - especially sequels!
Likes: hello anal probes!
Dislikes: Graphics are sub par, the story was weak, and I just didn't care that much about finishing it.

Story: You are back in Albion 500 years after Fable 1, (which is an awesome game - stands the test of time, truly) doing deeds (for good or bad) to stop the 'evil' ruler of the land from exterminating the only five people left who can stop him.
Review:  This game is immense.  there are less places to go, but the places you can go are HUGE.  you can do all the things from the first game we all loved, buy houses, have spouses male or female, you can start families, have jobs and omg my fave thing, you get a dog!  yeah i kno!!  a DOG!  how awesome is that!?  the dog helps you fight, and find treasure and keys and dig spots.  you get to name him, and buy him different collars and its SO much fun!!  I love that you can do evil things and your physical body changes as a result, and ppl act differently around you.  no matter how bad or good you are, there are certian things you have to do to progress in the game - but there is so much other stuff to do, really you don't notice the story line for hours, sometimes days into play.  ok, perhaps that's just me, but i'm just saying there's a lot to do.  the first part of the game you are a kid, and the decisions you make as a kid effect the world in positive/negative ways - completely changes town structures.
Likes: the dog!! you can marry whomever you want, the seer immenseness of the game.  the fighting is easy to pick up yet challenging.
Dislikes: the graphics are substandard when you put them up against other games that were made and released in the same time period.

Review:  I love this game.  I'll tell you I didn't like it at first, mainly bcs I have Adult A.D.D. and the beginning is a little slow filling you in with story, the galaxy is immense and so there is LOTS to know about, well everything!  Once you get in to it though, it's awesome.  It has the perfect balance of TPS and interactive RPG. This is definitely a recommended buy, there are many trophies to be had, and each choice you make during the game changes the game in very surprising ways therefore, replay is highly recommended and you actually get trophies for doing so.  The fighting style is unique, over the shoulder third person shooter, you also have 'powers' by being bionically enhanced - which lets face it, is very... cool.  you have a wide variety of your typical weapons, shotguns, assault rifles, snipers, and pistols.  They explain how you have endless bullets bcs the guns sheer off a projectile size piece of - i don't remember, some space element - that is self replenish able.  Typically I would find that kind of thing cheeky, but it works here, you have so many other things to worry about, its nice not having to lug around bullets for you and your team all over the galaxy.  That brings me to the team.  You get XP and when you level up you divide it out amongst your team, each member has his or her own 'thing' and some are trained to use all guns, some are only trained to use a few.  Either way, treat your team nice, they are good to you.  :)
This is a great game, its not glitchy as far as I can tell, there is SO much to do, so much to explore, the graphics are surreal and the story is amazingly intricate!! I can't wait to play ME2 and ME3!

Things I Love: The graphics, the story, the controls
Things I'd Change: hmm very little...  I'd add more trophies, a wider variety of trophies.
